SIDES & SAUCES:
"Three simple cheats here. You can use any cooked and defrosted prawns, a jar of seafood sauce, along with any type of 'Hot Sauce' that you like" - MR HANS
METHOD:
This method for cooking raw king prawns (peeled) gives you Perfectly Cooked Prawns (not overcooked) to use in this recipe. You should ensure that the raw king prawns are thoroughly defrosted before starting. This recipe is based on 12 peeled raw king prawns. Note: If you are using Pre-Cooked Prawns, you can skip the first 4 steps below.
-
Boil a kettle of water
-
Put the defrosted raw prawns in a large bowl and cover well with boiling water (set a timer for exactly 5 mins)
-
Prepare another large bowl with plenty of ice and cold water
-
When the 5 minutes are up, drain the king prawns and add them to the iced water and leave to go cold
-
Prepare the Marie Rose Sauce
-
In a small bowl, add the cooked king prawns and mix with enough Marie Rose Sauce to coat & cover to your liking then place in the fridge to chill until serving (it can be kept in the fridge for up to 24 hours)
-
Just before serving, shred the little gem lettuce (or similar) and arrange on a plate or your preferred serving dish
-
Top with the chilled king prawn mixture and garnish with a little paprika (optional)
-
The dish is now ready to serve
-
Conventional Oven - None
Serve with a wedge of Lemon and your choice of Warm Crusty Bread
